#6 Eisenhower (4,780 ft.)

The morning after our wet and cold trek to Lakes from Madison, we set off back down the Crawford Path to Highland Center. Oy, was it cold. Clem and I bundled on every layer we had, and I had to buy liner gloves at the hut (lesson learned: always bring gloves). The day was clear, at least, and there were no bugs on Ike's summit, unlike the last time Clem had visited. I liked Ike (had to say it): nice view, broad summit, fat cairn to hide you from the howling cold wind. That's enough for me. On the south flank we got some pictures of dwarf evergreens, the subject of the previous night's nature talk at Lakes of the Clouds hut.
